Tour Plan
Adelaide Hills Tour The
Adelaide Hills is one of Australia’s premium cool climate wine regions and is South Australia’s oldest wine region. Visit Beerenberg Farm to pick your strawberries (November to April). See the Farm Kitchen in operation and stroll through the Farm Shop, which offers a wide range of jams, pickles, chutneys, mustards, marinades and sauces made to old
Hahndorf recipes. Hahndorf is Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Arrive at the Hahndorf Inn for the hands-on activity of Apple Strudel making, followed by German lunch including the dessert you have baked. After lunch, have some free time to explore the Historic Main Street of Hahndorf and experience many of the unique gift and speciality shops, craft outlets, galleries and bakeries.
Cleland Wildlife Park
Stop at Mt Lofty Summit for great views of the entire Adelaide region before heading to Cleland Wildlife Park. Here, it is one of very few places in the world where visitors will gain an unforgettable moment while holding koalas and feeing kangaroos as they laze and wander in the wetlands. Surround yourself with over 130 species of Australian wildlife and you might spot some rare albino species as well. After checking in the hotel, depart to Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant for dinner. It is one of the world’s few urban single vineyards where you may enjoy breath-taking views over the city and immerse yourself in the history and spirit of Penfolds. Led by co-Head Chefs, Scott Huggins and Emma McCaskill, Magill Estate Kitchen offers a new everyday dining experience, featuring a grazing menu built on local and fresh ingredients.
d’Arenberg Winery Tour In the morning, proceed to d’Arenberg Winery for Blending Bench Experience where the craft of winemaking becomes an art form. You will be guided during the blending process to create your d’Arenberg wine from three-barrel samples of The Dead Arm Shiraz. The Blending Bench is handson progress, an interactive experience where you play as a winemaker, bottling a 750ml sample of your favourite wine blend to name (in a quirky d’Arenberg fashion) and take home to share this accomplishment among your friends & family. After lunch, take the ferry from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island (45mins ferry), a wildlife sanctuary without fences, where you can see Australian animals in their natural habitat closely and amazing rock formations such as Remarkable Rocks. Tonight, you will enjoy the water mouthing Seafood Platter in the hotel after check-in.
Kangaroo Island Wilderness Tour This morning, begin your tour with 4WD off to Seal Bay Conservation Park. Seal Bay is a large sandy beach and is amazed by the natural habitats of wild Australian sea lions, a colony of 600 bulls, cows and pups. Afterwards, enjoy a most welcome tea break with homemade biscuits, freshly brewed coffee, and tea. Oyster Farm Visit and Lunch Continue to Kangaroo Island’s largest commercial oyster farm at American River for a 30mins guided tour to see where the oyster leases are located and have a hearty lunch over there.
Flinders Chase National Park Next, head off to the island’s western coast natural attractions, Admirals Arch, an ancient limestone formation close to the ocean, a perfect haul-out area for an active colony of the New Zealand fur seal. The boardwalk leading to the Admirals Arch is near as scenic as the landmark itself. Kangaroo Island holiday wouldn’t be perfect without a trek to the island’s signature landmark, Remarkable Rocks where the forces of nature have carved modern sculptures out of the granite.
This morning, walk to the SeaLink booth at Penneshaw to collect your boarding pass and hop on Kangaroo Island SeaLink ferry to Cape Jervis (45mins ferry). Victor Harbor Tour Arrive at Cape Jervis Ferry Terminal, transfer to the town of Victor Harbor with its horse-drawn tramway in Australia. The magnificent Clydesdale horse-drawn tram travels across the 630metre causeway throughout the day taking passengers to picturesque Granite Island. After lunch, transfer to Adelaide CBD.
Barossa Valley Tour Just over an hour’s drive north of Adelaide lies the Barossa – the heart of Australia’s wine industry and the home to gourmet delights is blessed with a rich cultural heritage. Visit Seppeltsfield Wines, the Barossa’s most historic operational winery. Taste Your Birth Year Tour - Join one of the wine educators in the renowned Centennial Cellar and sip on a wine as old (or young...) as you are directly from the barrel. Next, continue to Jacob’s Creek to enjoy great wines matched with locally sourced food as lunch while taking in breath-taking views over the vineyards.
Leisure at Adelaide CBD Enjoy great shopping at Rundle Mall, the premier shopping destination, home to over 600 retail stores. Extending to Rundle Street east, it is a lively dining strip with plenty of designer shopping opportunities. Don’t miss the icons of South Australia’s which is Haigh’s Chocolate, Australia’s oldest chocolate company
In the morning, transfer to Adelaide International Airport for your departure flight. Arrive home with sweet memories.
